Canadian Dental Care Plan near you

At Dental Dreams, we believe that quality dental care should be accessible to everyone, no matter your age or financial situation. That’s why we’re proud to welcome patients who qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP).

Whether you’re a parent, a senior, or an adult without private dental insurance, we’re here to keep things simple. Our team will help you understand your coverage, guide you through the application process, and make sure you receive the care you need, comfortably and affordably.

Who is eligible for the CDCP?

The CDCP is a public program that offers participating Canadians access to dental services at a reasonable cost. You can be eligible if you fall into all of the following situations:
  • You have no private dental insurance, including work, school, or pension plans.
  • You are a tax resident of Canada.
  • You and your spouse (if applicable) filed a Canadian income tax return in the last year.
  • Your net family income after adjustment is less than $90,000.
  • You belong to one of the following age or eligibility groups:
    1. Seniors aged 65 and over
    2. Children under 18
    3. Adults aged 18–64 who are approved for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC)
    4. Starting May 2025, the plan will be expanded to include additional adults between 18 and 64 who are not DTC-eligible
If you are in need of information on the Canadian government dental plan for seniors, we are more than thrilled to help.

How to Apply for CDCP

You can apply online through the My Service Canada Account (MSCA). These are what you’ll need:

  • Your Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • Your name and date of birth
  • Your address
  • Details about any government social program, dental insurance (if applicable)
  • Confirmation of filing tax returns

Not that comfortable using online applications? You can call us at Service Canada 1-833-537-4342 for support.

How Much Does CDCP Cover?

The amount you pay depends on your adjusted family income:

Income Bracket

Coverage Level

Under $70,000

100% covered (minimal co-payment)

$70,000–$79,999

60% covered (40% co-payment)

$80,000–$89,999

40% covered (60% co-payment)

Not all dental treatments are paid for. Some procedures have extra fees, especially if:

  • Your dentist charges more than what the plan covers
  • The service is not a listed covered benefit in CDCP.
  • Some procedures are pre-authorized.

We will also inform you of the overall cost of care prior to treating you so that you are fully informed on what to anticipate.
